The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program provides academically talented young people who have a demonstrated commitment to their communities, yet who are economically disadvantaged, with access to quality and relevant education.
The Foundation has committed $500 million over 10 years to an expanding global network of education institutions and non-profit organizations that believe education contributes to economic growth and social progress.
Partners are providing holistic financial, social, and academic support to Scholars as they complete their education and transition into the workforce. Scholars are gaining the skills, values, and competencies needed to succeed in the economy and make positive social impacts in their communities.
The Scholars Program will serve an estimated 15,000 young people at the secondary and university levels. Alumni will be equipped and empowered to lead change, particularly in Africa.
